Prayer & Habit

Rooted in the Cross, Guided by Franciscan Spirit

The life of ACMC is nourished by prayer, spiritual direction, Eucharistic devotion, Sacred Heart spirituality, Marian devotion, and visible signs of consecrated service.

Foundress praying before the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Sacred Heart of Jesus

Consoled by the Heart of Christ

Praying before the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus our Redeemer, the foundress contemplates the love of Christ poured out for the world.

The Sacred Heart is the source of our consolation, mercy, and missionary zeal.

Good Friday Witness

At the foot of the Cross

On Good Friday, the foundress kneels before the Cross, holding the crown of thorns in prayerful remembrance of the suffering love of Christ.

This image expresses the heart of ACMC: to remain close to the wounded Christ and to bring His healing compassion to those who suffer.

By His stripes, we are healed.

San Damiano Cross

Franciscan spirituality and the call to rebuild

Standing by the icon of the San Damiano Crucifix, the foundress remembers the call of St. Francis to rebuild the Church through conversion, humility, poverty, and love.

The Tau Cross at the heart of ACMC’s emblem recalls this Franciscan spirit.

Marian Devotion

Our Lady of Consolation

Mary, Mother of Consolation, accompanies the mission of ACMC. Her maternal tenderness inspires our ministry among the poor, the suffering, and those seeking hope.

The community honors Our Lady with love, especially on her feast days and in daily prayer.

Our Habit

Visible signs of mission and consolation

The black-and-white habits are visible signs of mission, humility, prayer, and consolation. The stripes recall the wounds of Christ and the healing promised in Scripture: “By His stripes, we are healed.”

The habit is a daily reminder that each member is called to console the suffering Christ in the poor, the wounded, the displaced, and the forgotten.

Before the Blessed Sacrament

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

We adore Thee, O Lord Jesus Christ, in this Church and all the Churches of the world,

R/. And we bless Thee, because, by Thy holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the world.

This prayer expresses the Eucharistic and Franciscan heart of the Anima Christi Missionaries of Consolation.
