Anima Christi
MISSIONARIES OF CONSOLATION
Founded in 2019 under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the blessing of Bishop Peter Iornzuul Adoboh, the Anima Christi Missionaries of Consolation (ACMC) were born to embody the consoling love of Christ in a wounded world.
We are a missionary family, contemplative and active, drawing from the wellspring of the Anima Christi prayer and the Franciscan spirit of simplicity, peace, and joy. Captured by the healing love of the Crucified and Risen Lord, the true Consoler of hearts, we cannot remain indifferent to the cries of the suffering.
Who We Are
Our Story
In response to the cry of wounded humanity, Sr. Felicia Mbasen Agibi, together with Bishop Peter Iornzuul Adoboh of Katsina-Ala, Nigeria, founded our missionary family. Rooted in the prayer Anima Christi—‘Soul of Christ, sanctify me’—we live in union with Him whose wounds bring healing to the world.
Our Mission is Compassion in Action
Offering compassionate presence to those burdened by sorrow, trauma, or injustice.
Console the Afflicted
Forming communities of hope and reconciliation through evangelization and catechesis.
Proclaim the Gospel
Healing wounds of body, mind, and spirit through prayer, accompaniment, and works of mercy.
Heal Wounds
Uniting ourselves to Christ crucified and risen, whose mercy is the desire of every human heart.
Live the Prayer

Our Way of Life: Rooted in Prayer
The Heart of Consecrated Life
Prayer is the wellspring of our life. No service bears fruit unless it flows from intimacy with Christ. In prayer, we discover who we are: poor and humble handmaids, clothed in the mercy of our Divine Bridegroom.
Silence and Solitude
Silence is a sacred space where Christ's consoling presence speaks most clearly. We cherish recollection to nourish our prayer, strengthen our bonds, and keep our hearts attuned to the cries of the world.
Our Mother of Consolation
We cultivate a deep devotion to Mary, our Mother and model of compassion. We entrust our community and mission to her maternal care, allowing her to lead us ever closer to the pierced Heart of Christ.
Is Christ Calling Yous?
A vocation is a path of grace—the way Christ calls us to share in His mission of healing and peace. It is not about what we do, but who we become in Him. As you pray, you may ask: “Lord, how have You shaped my heart to console and to love?”
