Walking Together in His Love

Lay Associates of ACMC
The Anima Christi Companions of Consolation are lay women and men who journey with the Anima Christi Missionaries of Consolation in prayer, friendship, formation, and service.
Rooted in the Gospel and inspired by St. Francis and St. Clare, Companions share in ACMC’s spirituality and mission of bringing Christ’s consolation to those who suffer, especially the poor, wounded, displaced, and forgotten.
Companions remain fully engaged in their own families, professions, parishes, and communities while seeking to become instruments of Christ’s consolation wherever God has planted them.
“Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
A Shared Way of Life
Companions seek to live the Gospel in the spirit of St. Francis and St. Clare, nourished by prayer, the Eucharist, the Word of God, simplicity, fraternity, and joy.
Companions help carry Christ’s consolation to the poor, the suffering, and the marginalized through prayer, compassionate presence, service, and support of ACMC ministries.
Companions are women and men who desire to grow in faith, walk alongside ACMC, and become a compassionate Christian presence in their homes, parishes, workplaces, and communities.
The Companion Journey
Becoming a Companion is more than volunteering for a project. It is an intentional relationship with the spirituality and mission of ACMC, lived according to one’s lay vocation and state of life.
Those discerning this path are invited to learn about ACMC, pray with us, receive appropriate formation, and discern how God may be calling them to participate in the charism of consolation.
Practicing Catholic women and men who desire to deepen their life of prayer, grow in Franciscan spirituality, serve with compassion, and walk with ACMC in Christ’s mission of consolation are welcome to inquire.
No one is expected to discern alone. Conversation, prayer, and accompaniment are part of the journey.
Application to Become a Companion
If you feel drawn to deepen your spiritual life and share in ACMC’s mission of consolation, you may begin by completing the official Companions of Consolation application.
The application begins a process of welcome, discernment, orientation, and formation. Submitting an application does not automatically constitute admission as a Companion.
How to apply: You may apply directly online using the secure website form, or download the PDF application, complete and save it, then email the completed application to companions@animachristisisters.org.
Initial formation is ordinarily twelve months after acceptance into candidacy, normally with one formation day each month or two shorter approved sessions. Candidates complete all twelve modules and ordinarily attend at least 80% of scheduled formation sessions. The Promise of Consolation is made after formation, discernment, and approval and is renewed annually.
Together, we bring Christ’s consolation to a wounded world.
