About ACMC

Who We Are

A Public Association of the Christian Faithful for Women, rooted in the Franciscan tradition and inspired by the sacred prayer Anima Christi.

Our founding roots

The Anima Christi Missionaries of Consolation were founded in 2019 in Katsina-Ala, Nigeria, a region in Benue State deeply marked by suffering and resilient faith. It was there that Sister Felicia Agibi answered God’s call to heal the brokenhearted and console the afflicted.

With the support of the late Bishop Peter I. Adoboh, who canonically erected the community, Katsina-Ala remains our spiritual birthplace and the seedbed of our mission of mercy.

Meet Our Foundress

Sister Felicia Mbasen Agibi, Foundress and General Guardian

A life given for Christ’s consolation.

Sister Felicia Agibi’s journey has been marked by a desire for deeper union with Christ, prayerful discernment, and compassionate service. After thirty-two years of dedicated service with the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus, she continued listening for the movement of the Holy Spirit and responded to the call to become the founding servant of the Anima Christi Missionaries of Consolation.

Her vision is to form missionary disciples who remain close to the suffering Christ and carry His consolation to wounded hearts—especially the poor, the sick, the displaced, the grieving, the marginalized, and all who are in need of hope.

Rooted in the spirituality of Saint Francis and Saint Clare, nourished by the Eucharist, and entrusted to the maternal care of Our Lady of Consolation, she seeks to guide ACMC through humility, fidelity, simplicity, and compassionate accompaniment.

“To console the Heart of Jesus is to bring His love to a wounded world.” — Our Foundress

Servant Leadership

Leadership that kneels to serve

Following Christ who washed the feet of His disciples, ACMC understands leadership as humble service. The missionary bends low to lift others up, accompanying the suffering with reverence and compassion.

“I have given you an example that you also should do as I have done to you.” — John 13:15
